About the Coordinator
Al Adaschik was born in New London, Connecticut, on June 27th, 1943. He was raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended Franklin K. Lane High School. Upon graduation, he was accepted as an engineering student at the University of Michigan in the Naval NROTC program. Upon completing college, Al qualified for Navy flight training and received his wings as a Jet Fighter Pilot in June of 1966. After completing his tour of duty, he left the service and earned a MBA from Long Island University, at the C.W. Post Center, in Greenvale, Long Island.
Al has worked as a Flight Test Conductor for the Grumman Aerospace Corporation, a Financial Analyst for the Singer Company, a Senior Financial Analyst for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, a gymnastics coach and gym owner, and a Financial Administrator for the City of Fort Lauderdale. After twenty years of service, Al retired from this last position and upon retirement was honored by the City of Fort Lauderdale Commission by having the day of his retirement dedicated to and named after him.
When first hired by the City as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Utilities Department, Al was on the fast track to take over the Directorship when the present Director retired. Unfortunately, two years after being hired, he learned that the Utilities Department was deliberately dumping raw sewage into the river which ran through the center of town. Upon bringing this situation to the attention of his superiors he was offered a promotion to look the other way. Not being able to compromise himself, Al stood his ground and the dumping stopped. As a result of his actions, besides being blacklisted for promotion, Al endured eighteen years of harassment and wrongful treatment from his superiors and fellow employees. During this time he sought redress through every means possible. He filed numerous grievances and appealed for help to his elected representatives at the County, State, and Federal levels. All these petitions fell upon deaf ears.
Al's wrongful treatment by his managers and his inability to rectify the wrongs perpetuated against him, made Al sensitive and intolerant to injustice. Upon passage of GATT in 1994, his anger turned to the Federal Government. Initially, he wrote a plethora of letters concerning the unconstitutionality of GATT to his elected representatives all of which were answered by absurd and ridiculous replies. Next, he wrote a book entitled "While We Sleep - A Story of Government Without Law", which featured his experiences as a city employee and those corresponding with Congress about GATT. Subsequently, Al sued the Federal Government in Federal District Court acting as Attorney Pro Se for the plaintiffs; the voting citizens of the United States. This initiative failed because the court ruled that Al and the citizens he represented lacked standing in the matter. Finally, Al started his Website, "The Constitution Forum", in the hope of waking up his fellow citizens to the horror that our government had become
When not writing or working, Al has found the time to serve as State Reporter for International Gymnast Magazine, Director for the Riverside Park Resident's Association (RPRA), Treasurer of the RPRA, Vice-President of the RPRA, Director of Riverside Renaissance, Inc., Treasurer of the Mamas and Papas of Broward County (a charitable social organization), Congressional District Coordinator of United We Stand America (a non-profit educational organization started by Ross Perot), and 2nd Vice-Commander for American Legion Post #36 in Fort Lauderdale.
In 1987, Al met and married his second wife Gayle and now resides in Ormond Beach, Florida, with their two cats, Jules and Smokey.
